At the AYSS members meeting at the Monaco Yacht Show, \u00a0Yacht Aid made a passionate call out to the yachting industry that the Bahamas is open for business. The best support that our industry can give to the Bahamas is to continue to offer charters and cruises to the islands that were not affected by the disastrous huricane Dorian. <\/span><\/p>\n

There over 700 islands in the Bahamas, many with deep water berths. \u00a0Most were spared. Only 50 in the North Bahamas were devastated, but destruction there was total. In one area called \u201cThe Mud\u201d at Marsh Harbour in Great Abaco Island, the death toll will only be known at the next population count.<\/p>\n

Operation topaz is the aid campaign launched by the Yacht Aid Global and Superyacht Aid coalition \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

200,000 lbs of aid have been delivered Yachts were involved in\u00a0<\/span>4000 evacuations.\u00a0<\/span>30 miles of roads have been cleansed.\u00a0<\/span>US superyacht industry swung into action. The US Fishermen association played their parts.\u00a0<\/span>Even dogs were evacuated and homed in kennels in Florida \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yacht Aid is doing our industry proud. Disasters like this are to be expected with climate change. Initiatives such as Operation Topaz are not only doing humanitarian work but they are changing public perception of the Superyacht industry. Yes, superyachts are exclusive and the domain of the super rich, but the industry is also altruistic and swings into action when disasters of this magnitude occur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The mesage was loud and clear. The Bahamas remain open for business and needs the continued support of superyachts and their yacht brokers to promote islands such as the Exumas which were unaffected and are beautiful areas to cruise and explore.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exuma and the Exuma Cays are beautiful destinations with great infrastructure. Peak season in the Bahamas runs from December to April where the islands see average temperatures of 25 degrees celsius and a divine 23 degrees celsius in the sea.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
